Member Rules for YOUTH BASKETBALL OF CLAREMORE
YBOC Rules and Regulations
Refer to www.yboc.org for a complete rule book. Registration indicates an acceptance to follow all YBOC membership rules.
Eligibility: Kindergarten through 8th grade boys and girls living in Claremore or attending school in the following school districts: Claremore Public Schools, Claremore Christian, Legacy, Justus Tiawah, Inola, Chelsea, Claremore Sequoyah, or Foyil.
Players must have a valid and current sports physical on file and a birth certificate must be provided to the head coach.
Team Formation: There are two divisions in which teams are formed. Rec teams are drafted from a pool of players as teams exist. Team formation is determined by Rec player registration. Select players are selected or recruited by the head coach.
Club Participation: YBOC is an affiliate of Indian Nations Basketball Conference and will play opponents from other INBC affiliating clubs. Travel will be required for one half of regular season games and possibly the playoff/post season tournament. For a detailed list of affiliating INBC clubs, please visit INBC website at www.inyouthbasketball.com . All home games will be played in or around Claremore. Exact gym locations can be found on the official schedule released by INBC.
Player Participation: Player participation is governed by INBC. Minimum participation rules will be followed for each grade level. See INBC handbook for current minimum participation rules.
Fees: Rec players will pay a $90 registration fee. This fee cannot be waived at this time. Select player registration will vary depending on team size. The price per select team is $850 and will be divided equally among all players. The head coach of each Select team will be responsible for payment in full prior to the first regular season game. Coaches may collect the fees from the parents and submit them at one time to YBOC. Make checks payable to YBOC.
Payment Options: Rec players may chose to pay with credit card online or pay in person by selecting the “Register now, Pay Later” option if available while registering online. For alternate payment options, contact club director. Registration fees must be paid in full by November 19 of current year in order to remain on an official team roster. Select players will be required to submit payment to the team head coach. YBOC accepts credit card, cash, checks or money orders only.
Fundraising: Teams are encouraged to obtain business sponsors. Sponsors will receive advertisement in the YBOC season memory book. Ad sizes are as follows: $75 for business card sized ad, $150 for half page ad, $300 for full page ad. Teams may chose to buy out this $300 fundraising obligation by dividing the amount equally among all players.
Combine: All players new to the league, players whose returning team did not form, or those wishing to return to the draft MUST attend a combine practice (if applicable). See “YBOC Activity Dates” or check the website at www.yboc.org for exact times and locations of this combine. Any player subject to the combine but does not attend will be removed from the general draft eligibility and distributed to teams via a blind draw meaning that coaches will not have an opportunity to “pick” that player.
Practices: Rec teams will be assigned a practice gym location. Practice times will vary based on gym availability. Select teams needing a practice location may request a practice location. ALL TEAMS must provide their practice location and dates and times to YBOC. This allows YBOC to make sure adequate insurance is available to cover your team.
Food and Drink: NO outside food or drink will be allowed in the facilities, with the exception of WATER or GATORADE in a closable bottle. Concessions will be available on game days.
Ball Size: All REC K - 3rd use 27.5 ball, REC 4th - 5th and SELECT 3rd-5th use a 28.5 ball, 6th-8th grade girls use a 28.5 ball and boys 6th -8th grade use the men’s official size. YBOC will provide the official game ball, but no practice equipment will be provided.
Jewelry and/or accessories: Jewelry and/or accessories will not be permitted during games. No pierced earrings, no hair beads, barrettes, etc. Exceptions will not be made even if the piercing is new. This is a state high school rule which YBOC will follow.
Additional Costs: Reversible jerseys are mandatory and are arranged through your coach. Shoes must have non-marking soles. Players may choose to purchase their own basketball to use for practice. Players may be asked to pay a COVID-19 sanitizing fee.
